Join us for the BSS Old Girl Pub night on Thursday May 27, 2010.

Pub Night is hosted by the Old Girls’ Association, and is a great opportunity to connect before the summer is underway. This is also an opportunity for Old Girls to say ‘farewell’ to leaving and retiring staff and faculty.

Apr. 22: Its that TIME of year again, TIME for the Senior School Spring Concert

Time Signature, BSS’s Senior School Spring Concert will be taking place on Thursday, April 22, 7:30 pm in the Warren Road Gym. Tickets are $12 and will be available through BSS BO and through the Heads of Band, Choir and Strings. All music students in Grades 7-12 will be performing.

May 8: Hot Docs, Doc it! Showcase featuring BSS students

This year’s 2010 Doc it! festival, a program of young people’s films presented by Hot Docs has selected “Skipping Stone,” by Laura Orozco/Shaya Mulcahy and “Food Fight,” by Savannah O’Leary for the finalist showcase. The Showcase presents nine outstanding films made by Canadian youth between 14 and 18 years of age. The films are selected by a jury and the award-winning film is announced during the Doc It! The Showcase will be presented on Saturday, May 8, at 11:30 am at the ROM Theatre, 100 Queen’s Park. For a full showcase listing and tickets, please visit the 2010 Doc it! website.

An Evening with Author and BSS Old Girl, Marina ENDICOTT ’76

Over the years, BSS has hosted an increasingly diverse group of outstanding Canadian writers. These have included novelists, dramatists, poets, journalists and memoirists.

This year’s Hill Speaker is award winning author and BSS Old Girl, Marina ENDICOTT ’76. Ms. Endicott’s latest novel, Good to a Fault, was released last year and won the Commonwealth Writers Prize for Canada and the Caribbean and was a finalist for the 2008 Giller Prize.
 Ms. Endicott will give a reading for Parents, Grandparents and Old Girls on February 18 at 6:30 pm in the Student Centre. A wine and cheese reception and book signing will follow.
