Why Give?
Philanthropy is an essential element of our culture at BSS, and is the bedrock upon which the current School is founded. All of our students benefit from this legacy of generosity and it can be seen every day in the School’s spaces and tremendous resources.
Where does the money go?
Our donors support:
- 40+ needs-based scholarship recipients each year
- guest speakers such as World Wildlife Fund Canada President and CEO Gerald Butts and Canadian playwright and novelist Claudia Dey
- capital improvements such as the refurbishment of our historic Great Hall
- seed money for a graduating student to pursue her dreams
- extending and enriching the curriculum through our participation in The National Vigil of Remembrance, class sets of iPads and cameras, and the creation of our Junior School Learning Garden
- student participation in invaluable experiences such as the 2011 provincial robotics championships and the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships in Lithuania
