Annual Fund – Funding Priorities

Annual giving benefits every single student at BSS. The Annual Fund aims to further the School’s mission of providing each student the opportunity to develop her unique voice, confidence and sense of purpose by extending the girls’ education beyond the four classroom walls.

Tuition fees cover the day to day expenses and operations of the basic necessities, but the Annual Fund provides that margin of excellence upon which BSS has built its reputation as a leading independent school.  Participation in the Annual Fund – at any level – is vital. This is why, each year we ask every member of the BSS community to give to the Annual Fund.  We ask families, Old Girls, friends, and staff to consider a gift at a level that is comfortable to them.

Having a strong Annual Fund allows staff and faculty the opportunity to enrich their curriculum and classrooms beyond the basic operating budget each year, it also provides crucial financial assistance for some of our students.  Giving to the Annual Fund is the best way to have an immediate impact on the girls’ education and ensure that BSS remains at the forefront of girls’ education. Funding Priorities

Immediate Financial Aid is a way of saying, ‘Use it now!’ to protect our most precious resources – our students. With your support, BSS will keep passionate, motivated, and unique girls who enrich our learning community.

Head’s Discretionary Fund ensures that BSS will be ready to turn on a dime so that no opportunity is lost. With your support, BSS will be in a position to finance promising, unanticipated initiatives, which help girls to realize their dreams and deepen their understanding of the world.

Academic Enrichment allows BSS to fund program needs that bring world-renowned teaching experts to our learning community and introduce and implement cutting-edge technology. With your support, each BSS girl has access to the best educators, methodologies and tools as she experiences a curriculum in which all students can succeed.

Endowment ensures the sustainability of BSS into the future so that it continues to be a leader in girls’ education for years to come. With your support, we will cultivate excellence in our students, faculty, programs and facilities.

Leaving Class Gifts

Graduating classes participate in raising money towards a Graduating Class Scholarship, which is a legacy honouring BSS graduates as they prepare to embark on new challenges, for the benefit of future generations of BSS girls. The Graduating Class campaign aims to realize 100% participation from graduating students and their families.

The 2012 Grad Class campaign raised an astounding $112,274 with 62% of families contributing.  Congratulations Class of 2012!
