Meet Deryn Lavell, BSS’ Head of School

Welcome to BSS! I hope that through this virtual experience of our school, you get a sense of just how special this community is. Our Junior School, with its Reggio-inspired approach to inquiry based learning, has carved a bold and remarkably successful path in early childhood and primary education. Our unique Middle School program focuses on the needs of young women at a transitional stage. Or if you’re clicking through the Senior School and its multitude of programs and rich learning opportunities for girls during these crucial years of growth and intellectual development, you will find innovation and creativity at every turn.

Girls are our specialty. We know they need specific approaches and environments to bring out their considerable strengths as learners and leaders. And it is this kind of strength, these skills of collaboration, creativity and lateral thinking, that are increasingly prized as the skills necessary for a successful future.
