BSS’ Learning Resource Centre (LRC) aims to provide a learning environment to meet the needs and encourage success for all students, helping them realize their full academic potential.
Both Middle School and Senior School have learning specialists who provide additional academic help for students. Learning specialists work closely with faculty, parents and administrators to enable students to work to their highest capabilities, participate as fully as possible in the intellectual opportunities of the community, and become independent learners.
Senior School has a dedicated staff of learning resource specialists to provide our students with the tools and skills they need to reach their potential. Below are just some of the ways our learning resource specialists help our students:
- work with subject teachers to address a student’s learning obstacles;
- help plan student transitions;
- develop and implement programs for students with learning differences;
- apply assistive technology; and
- understand and work with students with social and emotional difficulties.
Whether it’s help with organization, time management, study skills, and specific-subject support, or special support or enrichment needs, our learning resource specialists are there to scaffold our students as they progress on their academic journeys.
