Scholarships

Our merit-based scholarships encourage and reward students who demonstrate exceptional achievements in academics, leadership and/or artistic achievement.

The deadline to apply for all scholarships is January 6, 2025. The application form will be available online in fall 2024.

  • Grade 6 Merit Scholarship

    No application is required for the Grade 6 Merit Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an exceptional incoming student and will be selected by the Admission Decision Committee based on admission criteria (the student's report cards, BSS assessment and interview).  
     
    Value: $3000, applied against the student's tuition fees in their first year at BSS
     
  • Grade 7 Merit Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded annually to a new student entering Grade 7. 

    Value: $4,250, applied against tuition fees
  • BSS Grade 9 Foundation Entrance Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded annually to a new student entering Grade 9.

    Value: $4,250, applied against tuition fees each year until the student graduates
  • BSS Foundation Arts Entrance Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded to a new student who is entering either Grade 7 or 9 and who excels in any area of the arts, including fine arts, dance, drama or music.

    Value: $4,250, applied against tuition fees each year until the student graduates, provided she continues to achieve proficiency standing (80% and above) and actively participates in school life
  • BSS Athletics Scholarships

    These entrance scholarships are open to new and returning students entering Grades 7 - 12 who are passionate about sport and actively involved in athletics.

    Value: A one-time award of $2,500, applied against tuition fees for the following year.
  • Grade 9 21st Century Scholarship

    This needs based scholarship is awarded to a new student entering Grade 9. Applicants should have a strong academic background and must qualify for financial assistance.

    Value: Up to $20,000, applied against tuition fees
  • The Edward S. Rogers Family Scholarship

    This renewable scholarship is awarded to Senior School students (entering Grades 9 - 12) based on their academic performance and contributions as engaged members of the BSS community or their current school, demonstrated by traits of the Signature of a BSS Girl and participation in co-curricular activities, clubs, sports, teams, leadership positions, etc.

    Value: $10,000, applied against tuition fees annually until the student graduates.
  • The John C. Rykert Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded to a new or returning student (Grades 7 - 12), with preference given to the daughter or granddaughter of a BSS Old Girl.

    Value: $2,500, applied against school fees each year until the student graduates
  • The Joyce LAU 1997 New Media, Design and Technology Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded to a currently-enrolled student entering Grade 11 or 12 who has demonstrated special talent in digital arts, new media and design and/or a strong interest in the intersection of new media and technology. Special consideration will be given to students planning to pursue new media/design or STEAM-related studies following graduation.

    Value: One-time value of up to $1,750, applied against tuition fees
