University Counselling

At BSS, we take a personalized approach to university counselling that guides students towards a post-secondary path they are truly passionate about.
Using a strengths-based approach, students receive guidance to make informed, meaningful choices for their futures. The curiosity, self-awareness and critical thinking skills they develop in the classroom help them build a plan that aligns with their needs, strengths and passions. And our team’s emphasis on self-efficacy, independence and problem-solving sets students up for success at university and beyond.

Comprehensive Support

Our University Counselling program provides guidance at every stage, with individual counselling, guidance workshops, application support and opportunities to connect with admissions representatives and alumnae. Our counsellors are experts in Canadian, US, UK and international post-secondary institutions. They work closely with students and families to help them understand what makes a university a good fit. Starting in Grades 7 and 8, students are encouraged to explore their curiosities and passions and consider the diverse pathways they could take. As they progress through Grades 9 - 12, they participate in workshops, research specific universities and tailor their course selection to align with their goals. By Grade 12, BSS students are well-prepared for the post-secondary application process and confident about their plans.

Collaborating With Families

Families play an important role in post-secondary planning. A strong support system empowers students and prepares them for success in their chosen post-secondary paths. Our University Counselling team involves parents and guardians every step of the way, through information sessions and regular communications.
