Kaylee came to BSS on the advice of one of her best role models, her sister Lauryn, who started in Grade 8 and graduated in 2019.
Kaylee, Class of 2024, came to BSS on the advice of one of her best role models: her sister Lauryn, who started in Grade 8 and graduated in 2019. Arriving here from The Bahamas last year in Grade 7, Kaylee has confirmed her sister’s stories are true. "From the things my sister said, I knew it would be a good place where girls had a lot of respect for each other, " explains Kaylee, noting that her sister wears her graduation ring proudly.

Financial Assistance enables BSS to welcome and support Kaylee throughout her education, and she’s already discovered a lot to like about her school. Her favourite subjects are English and drama, and she’s a dancer who aspires to a career as a choreographer. As soon as she arrived at BSS, Kaylee got involved in several sports, including field hockey (she's a goalie), softball and badminton. "I love sports. I love how coaches really cheer you on whether you’re winning or losing," she says, adding that she finds the same encouragement in her academic pursuits.
The Boarding community is like a family away from home. She’s having fun meeting fellow students and learning about their countries. She also values the emotional support she finds here. "Even if I’m having a bad day or important test, I can come home to Boarding and get a sense of loving and caring," says Kaylee, adding that she has lots of sleepovers.
