Investigations and Expressions

Professional Learning for Early Childhood, Primary & Junior School Educators
Through conversation, inquiry and creative exploration, Investigations & Expressions aims to rethink the role of educators and educational spaces in response to our current time and place.

We will share insights and engage in discussions, drawing on our experiences at a school inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach and other place-based pedagogies. Each session features interactive elements including storytelling, collaborative discussions, hands-on workshops, breakout sessions and Q&A sessions. Registrants will also have access to recordings of previous teacher presentations for a limited time.

Whether you join us for one, two or all three experiences, you'll have the opportunity to hear inspiring stories, envision the future of education, and contribute to creating schools that align with our aspirations for a better world. All who are interested in inquiry-based learning are welcome to join us.

-Carla Rinaldi & Peter Moss

Learning is not the transmission of a defined body of knowledge…Learning is a process of constructing, testing and reconstructing theories, constantly creating new knowledge. Teachers, as well as children, are constantly learning. Learning itself is a subject for constant research, and as such, must be made visible.

Summer Symposium

How can we develop and share new ways of teaching and learning that respect children and deepen our connection to the world? What do educational spaces and approaches that blend theory and practice look like?

We’re excited to gather again with a growing group of curious educators from diverse backgrounds. Our Summer Symposium is a great opportunity for all educators, whether experienced or new. This three-day conference offers many opportunities for professional learning, reflection, exchange and community building, including:

  • Presentations and discussions to uncover key questions and concepts
  • Hands-on workshops exploring big ideas, materials, and strategies to support inquiry and research
  • Stories about inspiring learning experiences, and examples of projects, processes and pedagogies
  • Collaborative investigations into new ways of being in solidarity with children
  • Invitations to participate in potential projects
Register now and let’s explore new possibilities together!
