Boarding has been a part of BSS since the school opened in 1867. Our Boarding program is a unique opportunity for students in Grades 8 to 12 to live, grow and learn in a new environment.
This year, our Boarding students represent 17 different countries, each bringing their diverse experiences and global perspectives to share with all the students in the school.
Through our comprehensive and active program, students become more self-reliant and self-aware, develop confidence and learn to lead. Boarding offers a wide range of evening and weekend programming that helps students understand their own needs and prioritize their physical and social-emotional health.
So far this fall, boarding students have engaged in House games, inter-school events with Upper Canada College, a sewing workshop, university campus visits, and outings to Casa Loma, Canada’s Wonderland, the aquarium and other fun locations throughout the city. Boarding has also partnered with Common Compass, a non-profit that works with schools to strengthen social-emotional well-being and mental health in students. Common Compass will offer a series of workshops focused on perfectionism, enhancing well-being and belonging, and strategies for managing daily challenges.
