Ways to Give

The generosity of donors ensures that our students have innovative, inspiring and varied learning experiences throughout their journeys at The Bishop Strachan School. Every donation makes a positive, long-lasting difference in the lives of BSS girls.
There are many ways to make a charitable contribution to BSS and enrich girls’ education.

  • Give Appreciated Stock

Donors who transfer appreciated publicly traded securities directly to The Bishop Strachan School Foundation avoid capital gains tax. These donors receive a donation receipt based on the fair market value of the shares (for the close of market on the day the securities are received by the Foundation). See a tax advantages chart.

Donors who prefer to sell shares to make a cash donation are issued a donation tax credit and must pay tax on the capital gains associated with the transaction.
